Itinerary:

5:30 AM – Pick-up from Hotel

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in [Your City – e.g., Colombo, Kandy, Dambulla, etc.]. Travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced chauffeur guide.

8:30 AM – Arrival at Sigiriya

Arrive at Sigiriya and start your adventure.

9:00 AM – Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Begin your climb to the top of the iconic Sigiriya Rock, also known as the “Lion Rock.”
Marvel at the ancient frescoes of the “Sigiriya Maidens.”
Explore the Mirror Wall, Lion’s Paw entrance, and the ruins of the palace at the summit.
Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and landscape.

11:30 AM – Descend and Relax

After your climb, take some time to relax and refresh at the base of the rock.

12:30 PM – Traditional Sri Lankan Lunch

Enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan meal at a local restaurant near Sigiriya. Savor dishes like rice and curry, hoppers, or kottu roti.

2:00 PM – Dambulla Cave Temple

Visit the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore the five caves filled with stunning Buddhist statues and intricate murals.

3:30 PM – Sigiriya Village Tour (Optional)

Take a guided tour of a traditional Sri Lankan village.
Experience a bullock cart ride, canoe ride, and learn about rural life and farming practices.

5:00 PM – Return Journey

Begin your journey back to your hotel or drop-off location.

7:30 PM – Drop-off at Hotel

Arrive back at your hotel, marking the end of your Sigiriya day tour.

What affects the price

Group size — per-person cost falls as the group grows, since the vehicle and guide are shared.
Pick-up point — distance from your hotel affects drive time and therefore cost.
Season — the December to March peak and the July to August window are busier than the quieter months.
Add-ons — guided entry, meals or extra stops can be built in.
