DAY 01: Arrival in Sri Lanka – Habarana, The Cultural Hub

Morning: Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. After clearing customs, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Habarana.

Afternoon: En route to Habarana, you’ll visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The largest painted cave complex in the world, this ancient site offers intricate murals and statues of Buddha, providing an immersive experience in Sri Lanka’s spiritual history.

Evening: Arrive in Habarana, the gateway to Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle, and relax at your hotel after your long journey.

Overnight: Stay in Habarana.

DAY 02: Anuradhapura - The Sacred Ancient Capital

Morning: After breakfast, drive from Habarana to Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka, known for its extensive ruins and sacred sites.

Sightseeing: Explore the Sri Maha Bodhi, one of the world’s oldest recorded trees, which is said to have been grown from the sapling of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit the Isurumuniya Temple, known for its beautiful rock carvings. Continue to the Samadhi Sthupa and the sacred Mihintale site, where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka. Afterward, head back to Habarana for a relaxing evening.

DAY 03: Polonnaruwa - The Ancient City of Kings

Morning: After breakfast, drive from Habarana to Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka’s ancient capitals, known for its archaeological treasures.

Sightseeing: Explore the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Park, which boasts incredible ruins from the Chola and Sinhalese kingdoms. Visit structures like the Gal Vihara, famous for its rock-cut Buddha statues, and the majestic Parakrama Samudra, an ancient reservoir. Experience rural life on a village tour in Hiriwadunna Village. Travel through the paddy fields on a bullock cart, take a peaceful boat ride across a local lake, and enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan lunch in a village home.

Evening: Return to Habarana to unwind and enjoy the serene environment.

DAY 04: Sigiriya Rock and Kandy - A Day of Culture and Beauty

Morning: Early departure for Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” The climb to the top of this ancient rock palace offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic experiences.

Afternoon: Drive from Sigiriya to Kandy, stopping en route to visit the beautiful Matale Hindu Temple, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and history of Sri Lanka’s Hindu heritage. Upon arrival in Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the holiest places in Sri Lanka, which houses a relic of the Buddha.

Evening: Enjoy a cultural show in Kandy, where you’ll witness traditional Kandyan dance performances and drumming.

DAY 05: Departure - Farewell to Sri Lanka

Morning: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure, taking with you memories of Sri Lanka’s rich culture, history, and stunning landscapes.
